Scilla siberica Spring Beauty

Scilla siberica Spring Beauty

Description

Slightly larger flowers than Scilla siberica, Scilla siberica Spring Beauty, is a low growing plant producing three to four stems with one to three with intense blue, droopy bell-like flowers and blue anthers, and three or four strappy green leaves. This hardy intensely coloured plant prefers direct sun, but can tolerate some shade and moist, but well drained soil in gardens, beds, borders, edging, rock gardens or underplanting of roses or shrubs. Scilla is a favourite naturalising bulb as it propagates quite quickly as well as being a main attractor to bees.  Scilla siberica Spring Beauty combines excellently with early daffodils, crocuses, chionodoxa, and puschkinia.
